WETLANDS is a dedicated project focused on the monitoring, restoration, and sustainable management of wetland ecosystems in Gujarat. These vital habitats provide essential ecological services, including water purification, flood control, and biodiversity support. However, they face increasing threats from urban development, pollution, and climate change. The WETLANDS initiative seeks to establish a robust monitoring framework to assess the health and diversity of wetland ecosystems. Through comprehensive data collection and community engagement, we aim to restore degraded wetlands and promote sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and local communities. By actively involving local stakeholders in restoration activities and educational programs, WETLANDS fosters a deeper understanding of the importance of these ecosystems. Our goal is to protect and rehabilitate wetland areas, ensuring their resilience and functionality for future generations.
SDGs Served: This initiative supports Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Life on Land (SDG 15), Climate Action (SDG 13), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
